On a phone, Studio opens in People. People can appear as a compact list or a table, depending on the available space. Both edit the same records, but the steps differ.
When starting a new chart, import a spreadsheet, use a template, or start blank. The choices stack vertically; scroll within the chooser for the lower options.

Edit in compact People
When People shows a list with Reports to under each person:
Tap a person's name or title to open the editor. The fields in this editor are a draft until you choose Save changes.
- In People, find the person you want to edit.
- Tap their name or title.
- Change the fields. For example, change Casey Lee's Title from Head chef to Executive chef.
- Review the other fields, then choose Save changes.

Executive chef is still a draft. Save changes applies it; Cancel keeps the last saved title.
Widening the screen keeps the draft and gives fields more room; Title and Department can share a row. If you start in a wider People table, use the table steps below.

Tap Reports to beneath a person to choose a manager. Open the person's actions menu for Role details or Delete person.

Use Add person to create a record. The new record initially belongs beneath the top-level leader; set Reports to when it belongs elsewhere. Undo and Redo sit beside the People heading and cover people changes, not themes or layout.
Use Undo to reverse a recent saved people edit and Redo to apply it again. That history does not survive a reload, so a saved title can remain while Undo is disabled after you return. Use Cancel for a draft you have not saved yet; use Undo for a recent change you already saved.

Undo restored Executive chef. Choose Redo to reapply Head chef.
The Studio menu contains Help and Appearance, with Light, Dark, and System choices. A signed-in menu also lists saved charts and provides New chart, Delete chart, and Sign out. A guest instead sees Sign in to save & export and Reset chart.

Choose System to follow your device's appearance. This menu changes Studio's interface; it does not replace the theme attached to your chart.
Work on a wider screen
If People shows rows and columns, edit the table instead of looking for the compact list procedure. Select a Name, Title, or Department cell and press Enter to commit; Escape cancels an uncommitted cell edit. Open a row to reach its expanded fields. Those fields save when you leave them, while the full person editor waits for Save changes.
To resize with a mouse or trackpad, point to the separator at the right edge of a column heading. Drag it left or right, then release when the column is the width you want. The drag changes that column only.
For a precise alternative, move your mouse over the Name column heading. A small chevron appears just to the left of the eye icon. Click that chevron, then choose Wider, Narrower, or Fit to content. The Name column changes width, while the other columns stay where they are. The chevron also appears when the control receives keyboard focus. On a touch device, the header controls remain visible, so tap the same chevron instead of waiting for hover. The compact list has no table columns to resize. Horizontal scrolling keeps a wide table usable when the screen is narrower than its columns.
Tab to the named resize separator, such as Resize Name column, and press the Left or Right arrow key until the column is the width you want. Hold Shift while pressing an arrow key for a larger change. Home moves to the minimum width, and End moves to the maximum. The visible focus outline marks the boundary you are changing.

Use keyboard alternatives
Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move through visible controls. Buttons, menus, fields, and manager choices expose text labels. For a reporting change, use the Reports to picker instead of dragging a card. For adding someone, use Add person instead of a chart handle.
Tab to Reports to and press Enter or Space to open the manager choices. Focus moves to the search field. Type to filter, then press the Down arrow to reach the first choice or the Up arrow to reach the last. Within the choices, Up and Down move between options; Home and End go to the first and last. Press Enter or Space to select the focused manager. The choice applies and focus returns to the control that opened the picker. Press Escape to close it without selecting a different manager.
When renaming the document, Enter commits and Escape cancels. In table cells, Enter commits and Escape cancels the pending edit. Visible focus shows which control will receive the next action.
Browser zoom can enlarge the entire interface. Appearance changes Studio's light or dark interface; Themes changes the chart design. If motion is reduced in the operating system, Studio uses its reduced-motion behavior where supported.
See people editing and reporting-line changes for the task-specific controls.
